Welcome to the Reggio-Inspired Network of Minnesota, a broad gathering of educators and citizens from Minnesota and nearby regions, who work in a variety of schools and civic organizations around issues of education and democracy. Inspired by the innovative preschools and infant-toddler centers in Reggio Emilia, Italy, Network participants look closely at the “Reggio approach” as well as examine and discuss our local experiences.  Here you will find information, inspiration and resources.

Open Book Study

Everyone is welcome to three summer book study sessions, continuing our discussion of The Role of the Pedagogista by Giammanuti, Cagliari, Giudici and Strozzi.

Book study meets via Zoom the third Sunday of each month, from 3:00 to 4:30 Central Time.

June 15, 2025
July 20, 2025
August 17, 2025

Register for Zoom Link.

Each meeting we form a flexible learning group without a fixed destination, with the intention of cultivating a context for uncertainty, diversity and complexity. We read slowly, never more than one chapter per month. (Sometimes we repeat a chapter, if we don’t feel finished with it.) Together we strengthen the disposition for close reading, careful listening and thoughtful conversation. We participate when we can; there is no charge.

“Creative thinking and knowledge are the first line of defense for freedom and equality…”
