    About Wildflower Early Learning Center Wildflower Early Learning Center is an early childhood program serving 3-5-year olds, open 6:30 am-6:00 pm. We strive to provide high-quality education through hands-on exploration. We use children’s curiosity and sense of wonder to fuel investigations and in-depth project work. We capitalize on real-life teachable moments to promote self-confidence, deepen social relationships, reinforce problem-solving skills, and strengthen connections to the environment. We hope children who spend part of their childhood at Wildflower will be better-prepared citizens for our shared tomorrow.

    General Position Description The teacher will assist in coordinating the curriculum and assisting with the management of day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The teacher must also understand adolescent development in order to support and educate parents. The teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults. We are a high-quality educational institution and we’re looking for people like you - energetic, creative and nurturing!

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Working alongside lead teachers to develop lesson plans that achieve individual and group goals
    • Meet the individual needs of the children through observation, record keeping, and goal setting.
    • Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning.
    • Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills.
    • Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff through the day to day interaction and bi-annual conferences.
    • Participation in staff and training meetings to maintain a school atmosphere conducive to the healthy development of children and mutually supportive staff relationships and building teamwork.  
    • Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
    • Participation in occasional annual community-building events.
    • Using assessment tools.

    Teacher Qualifications

    • At least one year of classroom management experience
    • Pursuing or obtains a CDA or Associates Degree, or higher, in Early Childhood Education or related field
    • Strong written and communication skills
    • Experience with emergent curriculum, environmental education, STEM or IXL is a plus.
    • First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.

    Physical Requirements

    Must be able to lift a child or children with a total weight of 50 poundsConduct activities involving substantial standing, walking, and moderate sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending on a frequent basis.
