    Program Summary:
     The Autism Spectrum Disorder Support Services (ASDSS) program at St. David’s Center provides support for individuals ages 6-10 in a group afternoon day treatment setting.


    Position Overview: 
    ASDSS Paraprofessionals provide vital and significant support to the treatment team and clients served in the ASDSS day treatment program.

      

    Responsibilities include:

    • Supporting the treatment team staff to implement individual day treatment plans to achieve client goals in the treatment room
    • Providing interventions and support that enhance program participants’ success
    • Coordinating the organization and maintenance of the treatment room environment
    • Maintaining the appropriate records and reports to support successful treatment for program participants
    • Adapting planned curriculum to the needs of children assigned
    • Ensuring the successful integration of children into the overall classroom curriculum and program
    • Promoting emotional growth in the child, assisting the child in integrating within the classroom and following through on therapy goals
    • Encouraging children’s participation in the classroom activities through positioning, transporting, utilizing adaptive equipment, and promoting independence

    Schedule: This position is available in either a part-time or full-time capacity, depending on your schedule! Part-time hours: approximately 15 hours/week, M-Th. Full-time hours include a job share role with the Autism Day Treatment program: 35 hours/week position, M-F.


    Pay:
     DOQ. The full-time, 35 hour/week position would be benefits eligible, including eligibility for loan forgiveness! 

     

    Qualifications

    Required: 

    • Associate degree with 4,000 hours experience
    • Experience in working with children with special needs, particularly children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
    • Knowledge of child development and childhood mental health disorders
    • Good organization skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Patience, flexibility, creativity
    • Resourcefulness
    • Ability to take direction and work as a team member


    Preferred:

    • Bachelor’s degree
